Students at the UAE’s happiest school, Horizon English School, have been named the 2023 BSME U11 Large School Games champions in the first post-COVID BSME Games.
With 32 students from Horizon English School taking part in this year’s Games, the individual hard work, determination and team spirit shone through from each student across the three-day event which took place in Abu Dhabi last weekend and was reflected in the array of medals they were awarded.
An extraordinary achievement on both a team and individual level, the students gave their absolute best efforts in the games and not only took home a gold medal for the BSME U11 Large Schools category but the school’s students were also awarded gold in the Girl’s Netball and Athletics categories. Additionally, the Boy’s Basketball and Girl’s Swimming team won silver at this year’s Games.
Mr Graeme McCann, Head of PE at Horizon English School said: “This is such a fantastic achievement for our young students, and it has given them an experience they will never forget. We are extremely proud of the way the children handled themselves in such a competitive environment, demonstrating resilience, determination and great team spirit.”
